About

Craft Portfolio is a showcase of contemporary fine craft shown within solo and group exhibitions where Atlantic Canadian makers are profiled. The project was launched in 2024 with our inaugural exhibition at the Collect Art Fair in London, UK, an International contemporary art fair dedicated to fine craft. The purpose of the online showcase and exhibition is to raise the profile of contemporary fine craft from the Atlantic Canadian regions of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador.

Craft Portfolio is a project of Craft Alliance Atlantic, a Canadian based non-profit organization. Our mandate is to provide marketing opportunities and to encourage export of Canadian craft. The key objective is to enhance the professionalism, education and advancement of fine craft in Canada and abroad.

Craft Alliance is an organization comprised of regionally based craft organizations consisting of the provincial craft councils and guilds, craft media organizations and other craft related industry, educational or government organizations, interested in supporting the further development of craft.

Craft Alliance leads the industry by working to develop national and regionally based projects to assist in furthering the goals of the partner organizations. The Alliance has four main priority program areas within its mandate. Those priorities include: Education, Market Development, Business Development, and Export.

We are industry partners in Canada with the Canadian Craft Federation (CCF) and World Craft Council – North America (WCC-NA). We have represented Canadian contemporary craft at contemporary art fairs and trade missions including SOFA Chicago, Collect Art Fair and others, through both educational missions with artists and with exhibition presentations over the past 15 years.
